Agro-Meteorological Information Systems Development Project

Client: Department of Agricultural Extension (DAE)
Scope: Project Success Story Development & Video Documentary
Executed by: Adon Communications Ltd.

Project Background:

Bangladesh’s agriculture sector is increasingly vulnerable to climate variability. To build resilience and protect rural livelihoods, the Department of Agricultural Extension (DAE) implemented the Agro-Meteorological Information Systems Development Project (AMISDP) — a pioneering initiative designed to deliver real-time, location-specific weather and crop advisory services to farmers across the country.

Project Objective:

The AMISDP initiative aims to strengthen the link between meteorological data and agricultural decision-making. It provides timely weather forecasts and agro-advisories that help farmers plan irrigation, fertilizer use, harvesting, and other farming activities more effectively—ultimately increasing productivity and reducing crop losses due to climate-related shocks.
